Dave Michael Bautista, known as Dave Bautista, was born on January 18, 1969 in Washington, D.C.. He is an American actor, former professional wrestler and mixed martial artist.
Bautista began his career as a professional wrestler in the late 1990s and became best known for his time with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Under the ring name "Batista" he won several championships, including the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
After leaving wrestling, Bautista devoted himself to acting. He got his first major film role in the action movie "The Man with the Iron Fists" (2012). However, his breakthrough came with the role of Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" (2014) and its subsequent sequels. His portrayal of the muscular and humorous Drax earned him positive reviews and made him a crowd favorite.
Bautista has since starred in a number of successful films, including "Spectre" (2015), "Blade Runner 2049" (2017) and "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018). He has shown that he can also demonstrate his acting skills in more serious roles, such as in the drama "My Spy" (2020).
In addition to his acting career, Bautista has also dabbled in mixed martial arts (MMA) and had a few fights in the MMA organization Strikeforce.
